SYNOPSIS
The Society for Arts presents one of the best foreign language films of the year - GODS. Riveting, fast paced, compelling and filled with humor GODS is the story of the rebel cardiac surgeon, Zbigniew Religa, who performed the first successful heart transplant in Soviet controlled Poland in 1984. Battling everyone including fellow doctors, the communist bureaucracy and a shocked religious community Religa, with the support of his renegade medical team, made history and became a national hero.
Played by excellent cast: Tomasz Kot, Jan Englert and Zbigniew Zamachowski accompanied by young, talented actors: Piotr Głowacki, Szymon Piotr Warszawski, Rafał Zawierucha, Magdalena Czerwińska.
The film will be presented from February 27th to March 5th at the Muvico Rosemont 18 (9701 Bryn Mawr Ave., Rosemont).
Running time: 112 min. The film is presented in Polish with English subtitles.
